Using multimedia  CD-ROMs during lessons have several advantages. It supports individual learning  and increases creativity. It is proven by experiments that the rate of the acquisition  of factual knowledge improves if multimedia is used during the teaching and  learning process while the time spent on learning decreases. 
          Multimedia  brings forth a new and efficient way to spread information. It provides new  opportunities to create a new learning environment in the teaching process.  Moreover, by applying multimedia programs, geography teachers do not have to  carry the visual aids to the classroom anymore. With a projector connected to  the computer, the students can see the visual aids enlarged their teacher has  prepared. 
          Most of the  current CDs contain plenty of information on the given subject and are  well-illustrated. Certain CDs are created specifically for teaching purposes.  There are multimedia teaching programs as well that do not require informatic  knowledge from their user.
